No More Nissan Auto Insurance?
Can you imagine a world where you won’t have to pay for auto insurance? One company, a research firm, can.
Thanks to new and emerging technologies such as collision avoidance, telematics, self-driving vehicles, and automated traffic enforcement, auto insurance could be a thing of the past in as few as 15-20 years. New vehicles including Nissan models have advanced some of these technologies and already have vehicles on the road putting them to good use. The result has been fewer accidents. And remember, we are only in the infant stage of these technologies. They will get better.
Insurance company executives can see this as a defeat or as a new opportunity. While auto insurance for drivers may be a thing of the past in the near future, that doesn’t mean that insurance will completely be obsolete. It’s possible that makers of the technology being put into Nissan vehicles and other cars will need insurance to protect them in the case of technology malfunction. Only time will tell if that idea will catch on.
If you’re sick and tired of paying those auto insurance premiums every month, you might prepare yourself for some rejoicing. The one thing that is better than an insurance policy that covers auto damages when you are at fault is auto safety technology that effectively eliminates accidents in the first place.
